Hi, Just got 1950 Chevrolet 1/2 ton. It looks like the engine was changed at some point. It has front side motor mounts that were welded to the frame.I searched for the numbers on the block and head and came up empty in the forums.Block# 0697170 F255ya and Head# 3835913 G
M 16 Also B33 913 241 570. These are all the numbers I found. Any help would be great! Thanks Steve

The head number is for a 54/55.1 (before the "848" head came along)

Your block is a 1955 Second Series

0697170 = unit number starting with 0001001
F = Flint Plant
255 = Second Series 1955
YA...you need to look at these letters again, could be XA, MA, DA, BA or PA.

Block Casting Numbers are found right above the oil pan on the front right side inside a concaved area. That number will help ID what you have...

At the link in my earlier post, you find that XA refers to 3600 (3/4 ton) with no drivetrain options.
