I have been struggling with the installation of fender welting on my 52 chevy pickup. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get a decent body line without cutting the welting to shreds? I have tried the multiple triangle cuts but was never happy with the welting line. I tried a new roll of fender welting and tried some rectangle cuts and that helped somewhat. I was just wondering if anyone had an easier method or tricks that have eluded me here. Thanks in advance for any ideas folks.

I just layed the welting on the rear fender. I drew on holes where the holes were. Drilled the holes in the welt. Bolted it all on. One of my holes was a little bit off so it sitcks up maybe and 1/8 of an inch above the fender edge. Still looks fine. Worked for me and was easy. Best of Luck.

What I did was with the fenders off the truck laid them flat and used glue and glued them into place made cuts where I needed to, cut the holes in place worked great.

Cut triangles at bolt holes, slide in welting and tighten fender bolts. Then at he ends of welting where you cut off roll put some weather sealer on cut ends .This will save you future problems down the road. cool cool

Warming up the welting will make it earier to work with. The original welting on my truck was notched with triangles and glued to the truck.
