I see that the question of what carb is best has been asked a few times here. It appears that the Carter YF or w-1 are the bet bet. I currently have a 1958 235 I am rebuilding for a 1950 3600 and I have no carb at all. So, my question is does anyone know of a good online source (other than ebay) to purchase a complete carb like this?

Also, is it possible to take a carter yf set up for a Ford and change the jets to make it work?

Thanks

I see Chevs of the 40s https://www.chevsofthe40s.com/detail/42403/Carburetor_Universal_.html

Are selling rebuilt Carter YFs. You will want a Carter YF 2100s and specifically ask for that model there or anywhere.

OReilly is selling Carter YFs rebuilt by TomCo.

As far as getting the right carb without mixed parts can be difficult.

My Carter YF 2100s bought from EBay with a tag on it had an accelerator pump diaphragm housing from a Ford Carter carb.

The W-1 will require the use of a 216 manifold with adapter rings to bolt to a 235 head or reworking the 235 manifold carb mounting studs.

Hope this helps.
