It just seems so cheap and I put my elbow through the driver side cardboard door panel already. It's not sturdy and I would prefer metal, fiberglass, anything but cardboard.

Just google abs door panel for 1953 Chev P/U. You will find plenty to choose from. BTW they are not cheap.

Maybe they don't handle them anymore.

I found them today by doing a Google search for 1953 Chevy P/U door panels. Several returns, but the one that looks like mine is the RD4231 on Chevys of the 40's website. It is a full door custom ABS panel. It does not resemble the stock panel in any way.
I just checked again and it's not showing up. Frustrating!

I'm going to make a couple of cardboard templets and cut mine out of the fridge door .I was surprised how good a quality this stainless is ,also the thickness is perfect .Just a thought .
You can buy the pattern pre made also . Paul

I was hoping for a simple ABS door panel piece to match original size/shape. I can cut one, but I am getting lazier in my old age. I'll glue material to it. | | |
