My truck is running great now with many thanks to all who helped with a previous problem.
I am running dual one barrel Rochester carbs with a Fenton intake on a 235 in my 1951 truck. I thought I had a gas leak at the base of the carbs but it is condensation(water). The neck of the intake where it connects to base of the carb is sweating and the intake is very cold to the touch. Is this good or bad?
What causes this? Yes this is while truck is running

That is what 'carb heat' is for.

when the fuel vaporizes it absorbs heat from the carb body, making it colder. it will sweat if it falls below the dew point and can even frost up. Same principle as refrigeration. and yes, that is why heat is brought to the carb base either by routing coolant or exhaust to that area.

From my racing days.... Colder air equals more getting into the combustion chamber. I like to see them cold or even frosting.... I would be happy with that result and wouldn't do anything to change it!

I have talked with some of my neighbors who work in NASCAR and they tell me the colder the better. They say many times during qualifying when running carbureted set ups they get frost.
So I am going with I am good to go

If you have frost on the outside of a stovebolt six carburetor/intake, your gas will condense inside. Expect aberrant behavior - at best.

Racing engines and NASCAR engines/carburetion-injection might behave differently.

No frost so no worries
