I can't paint worth a poop on exterior metal, but do a great interior job..Any advice or knowledge would be greatly appreciated..

I have a 64 chevy short fleet. I think i might go with the 50 60's hot rod black. I dont know yet though. Right now i have it rattle can primer black. Looks real rugged and ratty. All good though.

Just look at the older mercedes and dodge vans around, paint peeling in shreads. get a good base on that silver.
BUT
their paint failure are do to the re-formulating from laquer to 'modern' paint
and
The primer was not compatable w/ the newly re-formulated paint... hence the peeling.
PREP is everything.
