Now that I've jumped into the deep end of the pool it's time to start swimming. I'm new to Stovebolts and to this forum.
I'm hoping to tap into some resident knowledge out there in cyberspace that might help me learn more about what I've gotten myself into. My better half thinks I'm crazy! Now I fear I've given her real proof and belong in a straight jacket.
Anyway, I would enjoy hearing from others who own a '45 as I'm sure I will have lots of questions.

They are very nice looking trucks, love that style. Good luck with it and don't be shy with the questions. We all have life jackets just let us know when you need one. Because of the War the 1945 years are sort of scarce, or should I say they are not "plentiful". Lots of parts interchange on the Art Deco style so you should be able to find what you need.
...see you around the garage forums. We are all here to help. | | | | Joined: Jan 2016 Posts: 1,094 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2016 Posts: 1,094 | Welcome. I bought my truck in January of this year with my wife not happy about it. She also thought I was crazy. 8 months later and she is on board. My truck has grown on her. This is a great resource and a great group to be a part of. We want to see pictures. You need to post some. | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 667 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 667 | Welcome! Great to see another WarBolt. Gotta' love that Art Deco series. But...now we need to see some pix. | | | | Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 1,608 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 1,608 | Well, I was bitten by the bug yesterday and brought home a '45 Chevy pick up. Civilian models made between 1942-45 were not common as only one of the nine assembly plants continued to make civilian models. Civilian pickups are even less common as most civilian trucks produced through the war were larger 1 1/2 ton models. Do you know much about the provenance of your '45? Farmers/industrialists had to petition the War Department to get permission to by a new truck during the war. You will most likely have better luck finding parts by searching for the 1946 model year...they are virtually the same less a few chrome/leather/rubber parts. Don't worry about your wife, she will grow to love the "new" truck. | | | | Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 163 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 163 | Hello and welcome!
Always good to see another "Bolter from Wisconsin!
On August 20th we are holding a "gabfest" in Hartford, you could meet a few fellow 'Bolters there!
