Can remove my 1935 chevy truck engine intact without removing the cylinder head, or does the head need to be.removed to clear the firewall. The bell and flywheel need to clear the frame cross member and it looks.like a tight fit. I want to replace the front motor mount.

If you cannot replace front mount with engine lifted up slightly with a jack, etc., might be easier to remove whole front clip, designed for that.

The front mount can be replaced without removing the engine or any sheet metal if you have a lift or a front end loader. Just lift the front of the engine by attaching the lift to a front head bolt. Remove the front mount bolts and just loosen the rear mount bolts and lift a few inches. I like to block or support the engine while doing this as a safety measure (an you certainly should!). It is tight fit but is not too bad of a job. Read the tech tip on setting the front mount up properly before reinstalling. good luck.
