I would also like to work on an English wheel. I guess a couple of Covell video's will be the place to start. Any suggestions out there from the experienced? I saw an add for an English wheel starter kit. Differences in smaller bench mount vs larger stand mounted ones.

A large wheel allows you to make panels like a roof skin but you ALSO NEED two people to run the thing that KNOW how to use it.
A bench model is best suited for home wheeler. Ive got a Metalace bench model e-wheel. Its the SAME wheel that Covell sells, Covell just puts his name on it.
Another good place would be Gulley performance center.
Look for a video on John Glover, something like making a model A fender.
