Somebody in GM upper management decided they needed an introduction to FIXING cars, not just making them! It got pretty interesting! Jerry

Nothing better than going back to real time info for the facts and thoughts at the time. Easy to get lost in the tech details and had to focus hard without the dyno curves, must have been hard to create back then. Very interesting points on solid vs. hydr lifters as the industry was figuring these out in production autos.
Peggy...I don't get the cartoon either, but Jerry's example is a good one. I think the instructor was a bit more infatuated than the audience.
Jerry...as long as they weren't knuckleheads and would listen to you, I bet those were some of your best students. Also guessing there was some learning both ways.

Most of them were 2nd. or 3rd. generation GM family members, with fathers or uncles way up in the chain of command with the company. Sharp kids, but they had no concept of maintenance after the cars were built. Yes, I think there was some learning on both sides! Jerry
