It is a rebuilt engine with expensive break-in oil leaking all over my floor. | | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,904 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,904 | Put one of those white plastic "gaskets" on it and see what happens. Save the oil first in a clean container and put it back in.

There are slight oversized plugs available in the event that this one is too loose. It feels quite sloppy in the threads, I wonder if the oil pan threads are tapped correctly? Perhaps the next thing is the oversize plug, it looks like it cuts it's own thread.

Yes they tape new threads.
