I have heard that the reproduction latches are junk. I did not use them. I managed to get a couple of NOS latches, and they work perfectly. And the NOS latches only cost me $10 more than the repro ones. I see NOS latches on ebay every once in awhile, I got mine from BowTie Bits in Wichita and from Tom's in Miami Oklahoma.

You will keep hearing it as well. I bought repo and it worked very poorly before falling apart within six months. Found NOS for about $20.00 more.

Thanks, Nifty50 2. these repo items must be made like allhot rod parts, if they work at all you have to work on them a week or so.

if you are not going stock, consider double catch latches - like a bear claw type. easy to install and adjust. reputable dealers like rocky hinge company or yogis handle well made product for a decent price.

or, do like i did - got mine out of a dodge talon type car - installed the same way
