FORRESTER OR ?? DARK GREEN PAINT: Having this 5 window , we want to paint it a dark green color and the references to original paint colors, although some good references are available, no current color codes cross to new paints. SO
Does anybody have current dark green paint code that we can go look @ in the color match section of our local auto paint supply shop? We're still in the process of restorating and new eng. installation and it's that time.
many thanks

Chevy Duty has the paint premixed and ready to go.I ordered some Forester green for this work truck that I put together and I tested it on a small panel and it looks pretty good.

Here's a thread that should have all the numbers you need.
http://www.stovebolt.com/bboard/cgi-bin//ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=001834#000000

If you need more info type "forester green" in the search box.

What is the year and name of the color? GMC or Chevrolet?

PPG is often able to mix old colors

The PPG equivalent to "forester green" is "woodland green" Chev/GMC Truck color
paint code is DAR 42850.

Now is there anyone out there who can give me the PPG code for the interior "champaign" color.

I used the old code 40519 (?) and called ppg. They gave me a formula that they thought would match. I had a quart mixed and painted the inside of my fenders with it. I think it was closer to Juniper green; lighter than I wanted.

I may try Jaguar's British Racing Green, as it is a very dark green, with no metalic. To each their own I guess. Anybody else look at this twist?

oldchevytrucks.com sells the original colors in enamel. A Dupont supplier can whip up any old GM paint that you know the correct name for. I have not needed Forester Green but they mixed Juniper Green that is a perfect match when compared to a cleaned off greasy spot on my 1955.1 Chevy firewall. I had the same experience with 1950 GMC Pimpernel Scarlet.

Did anyone follow-up on the "champaign" color for the interior? I can't find the numbers for this one anywhere.

Thanks
