We are trying to identify what kind of mirror is that and where can we get one. It has 2 brackets that connect to the door above the window that meet about 10" out then joined together to support a single arm that is about 10" long and the end that supports the mirror is curved downward about 4". What is this type of mirror called and does anyone sell them. http://www.pizzarita.org/gallery/Here's a picture of the mirror that is on the LF door. Thanks, Jeffrey

I believe that's the stock Chevy mirror and they only put them on the left. Others may chime in with more info, but my best guess is that you would have to fabricate a mate for the other side or go to a different type of mirror altogether. | | | | Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 910 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 910 | Thank you. That's the original paint on the cab and the racks. Also still has the original wood on the bed. The truck was garage kept it's whole life on a farm in Nebraska.
I was wondering if I could take one from the left side and make it fit on the right side. | | | | Joined: Dec 2012 Posts: 201 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2012 Posts: 201 | It may be possible. If the pieces are just bolted together, you might be able to switch the parts around to make a mirror-image and instal it. My truck has had a set of "west-coast" mirrors installed at some point and I like them. Back in the day, folks weren't as concerned with what was behind them and out on the farm, I guess there wasn't as much to back into. | | | | Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 910 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 910 | I agree not too much to run into on the farm and the roads had less traffic back then.
Though my son uses his truck for his business and having a RS mirror would be a big improvement. Ed, if you ever see a LS mirror available please keep me in mind. However, my truck does have mirrors on both sides that are the ones that match the holes in the doors above the window and look like the one on your driver's side, so they do exist. As best I can tell, the passenger side has the same arms, just flipped over. See my gallery for photos. I even have the remains of a rubber grommet in some of the holes in the door frame that once sealed the mirror arms through the doors. | | | | Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 2,946 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 2,946 | Can you use your existing one for a pattern and have one made for the opposite side? | | | | Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 910 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 910 | I'm not sure where the mirror brackets are available, if they even are. I have seen pictures of 46's with mirrors on both sides like your truck. No trace of any rubber grommet on my son's truck. But seeing a gap between the door and the mirror arm made think that they left the factory with a rubber grommet. Thanks for confirming that grommets were used. | | |
