Got a '50 half ton, and will convert it to a disc/drum setup, and want to change rear drum over to Bendix, rather than Huck.

Does the parking brake rod, under the cab, remain the same?

My rod is actually two rods, joined at the middle with a clevis and a tie rod looking end, and it's all bent to heck!

Can anyone see a differences in making a rod assembly out of a single piece of rod stock, with the required clevis ends? or does it have to be two pieces, due to the offset position of foot brake and the rear swivel rod across the frame.

Let me know! thanks, Mike

I would guess that it would need to be two pieces so that it will articulate as the parking brake cross bar rotates when setting/releasing the brake.

that's what I was wondering, notice the vendors appear to have a one piece rod, and I have seen some "used" rods on eBay that appear to be one piece. Would be cheaper to make one myself, rather than the $80 the vendors are asking.

Now, do the Bendix brakes use the same parking brake setup? I assume they are the same as the Huck.
