For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2003 Posts: 77 Member | | Member Joined: May 2003 Posts: 77 | I have a 49 Chevy COE 3-window cab. I would like to make it a 5-window! Would the corner windows of a regular cab be the same size as those on a COE? I'm pretty sure I can find regular 5-window cab parts trucks in some local old car junkyards nearby, but COE's are nonexistent! By chance, does anyone make a corner window "patch panel"? Is corner glass available? I'm new to this series of truck! My previous restifications have been on 55-72 trucks!

They used the top and rear from a conventional 5 window. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 619 "MONGO" | | "MONGO" Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 619 | COE, I belive the cabs were the same on the COE trucks so you should be able to Graft the top/back off a 5 window right onto it. Or even better if you find a 5 window cab in good shape you should be able to just swap them. Sean | | | | | | Anonymous Unregistered | | Anonymous Unregistered | The front section of the COE cabs are quite a bit different from the regual cab trucks. There was a great thread on how to do this exact thing done by Martin Senior about a year or so ago. Basically you take the inner cab skin from a 5 window cab and install it into a 3 window cab. . . check this out. | | | | | Joined: May 2003 Posts: 77 Member | | Member Joined: May 2003 Posts: 77 | Thanks for all the suggestions and "how to" info, guys!
