I have a 49 pickup that is a collection of parts between 49 and 52 and between. She is a cruiser and i dont really care about originality since my goal was to make a driver that i can take anywhere up here in Idaho and the northwest.
My dilemna is that i have a rust free 51 cab with a set of great 52 doors and am trying to figure out if they will work together without having to modify heavily or go to an expensive bear claw system. I have 51 strikers and the door closed but in reading other forums, it seems that there are some issues with them. I can find 51 and older doors and make them work but i prefer a vent window and push button doors. I also happen to have some old advertising on one of them that makes it special.
Any help from all of you would be welcome.

I have a 51 truck, vin says so and everything else does as well, The strikers are 51 and the door latches are push button. They work and close the doors. Nothing has been modified on the door closure parts that I can see. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this on a truck made in April 51. One year only doors.
