Want to pull the instrument cluster forward that holds the oil gage so I can change the oil pipe.
The gage appears to be held with 3 nuts. Does anyone know what size these nuts usually are ?
I cant see them buit can feel them... J

Dave ....the cluster has a bezel on the front side so I presumed that it would come out thru the front...
So the bezel around the cluster stays on and the entire cluster and bezel comes out the back of the dash ?
If this is the case, what would be the best and easiest way to change the oil pipe ?

Are you a good contortionist?

I have disconnected/reconnected oil pressure sender lines by laying on the floor and working under/behind the dash?

I need a more colorful vocabulary as I get older, working behind/under the dash.

Maybe someone will post a link to a photo of lying on a board along the floor and out the door (to work/lie behind/under the dash)?

I spent some time today under the dash with the seat out but the seat frame base did a number on this old body of mine. My back aches now
I might just bite the bullit and pull the cluster out the back of the dash ...if nothing else, at least I then can also check the wiring.
Will see how My back feels in a few days.....thanks.....J

This is the very reason I wired my gauges and stuff with a little extra length...so I could take the retaining nuts off and pull the gauge set down to disconnect stuff, however I doubt the oil line coming down very far so you'll have to unscrew it anyway.

If you can remove the speaker cover that's in the middle of the dash it only has 4 nuts holding it in. You'll be able to set on the seat and put you're arm thru the speaker hole and work on the gauges.I think it's easier, that way you're not fighting the wire and oil line. Also the nuts on the speaker cover can be removed and replaced with a nut driver that makes it real easy ,I can remove the cover from the passenger door without having to lie down on the seat.
