All components require repair, most notably those fat "middle" bars that bolt to the side of the nose piece. The l.s. middle bar didn't look like it fit right and after awhile I realized it is different! I'm guessing it came off a larger truck. But I'm stuck with it and either have to repair it and use it as is, modify it to look like original (a lot of work) or find a suitable replacement. I'm thinking these grille parts are rare. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 264 Member | | Member Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 264 | My grille has a top bar that curves downward at the end. "Chevrolet" is stamped into it. The next level has the wider bars I refer to. They fasten to the nose piece in the center and they also fasten to the running light housing. The last part of the grille is the bottom level which is essentially a pan.
These middle bars as I call them are curved upward at the back, presumably to direct air upward to the rad. I removed these upward curved sections because my rad is lower than stock and straight-through flow is better and less restrictive. I have an email in to Carter's to see what he has. | | |
