The toe board on Sparky needs some repair and parts replacement,

1) The gas pedal rubber covering is shot and needs replaced or the whole pedal replaced. How is the pin holding the pedal onto the board removed? I tried punching it out without any joy. The pin holding the pedal has a small hole on one end, as if for a cotter key??

2) There is a small hole on the angled bracket holding the pedal onto the back of the pedal. Is there some other part, missing? If so what?

Any info help will be appreciated.

the hole in the pin is supposed to have acotter pin. It is supposed to slide out away from the hole in the pin. I don,t recall any other hole in the bracket holding the pin

GW is correct. The pin does come out. The cotter pin prevents the rod from slipping out during use.
Soak the rod with PB Blaster overnight and try again.
You can buy a new pedal here
