For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2016 Posts: 73 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2016 Posts: 73 | I was so excited to get back home Saturday to get my door so I could begin the wood rebuild on the cab, only to find that the door I purchased on Ebay, was the wrong door. Bummer. It was a crummy picture. If I would have noticed the 4 hinges instead of three, I would have realized it was not the right door. Can anyone help me identify this door. It has the two ribs that run horizontally across the door like I have seen on 1929 and 1930 chevy trucks however, it is 29"s wide x 48"S TALL. Looks more like the back panel door of a panel truck or possibly a 1927 or 28 truck door. I would like to be able to resale it. Please see picture in my photobucket. Most if not all of us here have gotten bit by inaccurately described/represented items sold online or even at swap meets.
Sorry I can't help with identifying the part in question. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,214 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,214 | Dave, I believe you have a 1929/30 1/2 ton door. I've seen examples of the 1/2 ton with both 3 and 4 hinges (4 being rare). If the door fits your opening I'd hang on to it until I found the correct door...converting it from 4 to 3 hinges is a lot easier than making the entire door. However, it has the regulator knobs and latches. Might hold on to it just for the hardware. | | |
