For helping keep this great

on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 28 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 28 | Good Afternoon, I need to replace the door lock cylinders or the whole latch button I don't care. The locks on both doors won't unlock or turn. Does anyone know how to remove the cylinders or door buttons? Is button the right word? Ultimately I would like to key the ignition and door the same. My truck is almost all original. Bottom line I need to get the doors to open from the outside without having to reach through the vent window. Thanks for the help.

American classic has the complete lock kit for 95$, all keyed alike. (assuming for the 59 Apache in your signature line). Once I open up the inside of the door I assume it is easy to get the door handles off ? I appreciate the help and the recommendation on the parts shop. Obviously I didn't do all of the work on the truck or I would know more. I bought it 9 years ago and last year I threw in the towel and turned the truck and about a dozen boxes of misc. parts over to a pro who did a great job getting finished. The truck looks great except that the chrome on the new door handle buttons rusted off in less than a year and then they stopped working altogether. Thanks again.
