Hi Drew I check in now and then I have been tied up with a supercharged Jaguar project but did manage to put a few miles on the truck just before it stuck in first gear I had a spare TH400 I had prepared a while back so I put that one in and we are back rolling again. The old trans did shift up when on the axle stands 2nd at 80mph and 3rd at 130mph but I figured that would not be suitable for the road still have a few things I need to finish off maybe I will get to a local show this season.

Finished off the Bed Garnish this weekend did a few small jobs and drove the truck around in the Virginia sunshine a few pics in the album

Fitted some insulation to the cab and carpet to finish the interior the to do list is getting shorter

I tried to reach by PM. I looked at the pix on flicker at your awesome project. Can you provide additional information and pictures on the two large mounting pins on the front of the Jag IFS. Did you add a large plate on the existing crossmember? I grabbed a 85 XJ6 IFS last weekend and I am ready to start planning the swap on my 46 1/2 ton. It seems tempting to try the soft mounts but everything I read recommends hard mounting.

I also prefer a manual rack since I have the AC where the generator goes on my I6 235 engine. Do you think I could convert the power rack to manual? Or do I need to create a hybrid of some donor manual center and use Jag outer tie rods?

Hi there - I'm toying with the idea of fitting a Jag front suspension to my 46 Truck. Are you planning on getting yours lower at the front? It looks as you have soft mounted it at the front and used the engine mounts pad straight to the chassis at the rear. Have you fitted the anti-roll bar yet?

I think I'm going to struggle to get my as low as it sits currently with my drop axle set up. Do you think it's possible to soft mount the front and keep it low? Any extra comments as to how you fitted the ifs would be much appreciated - regards Chris.

Hi Guys sorry I am late with the reply's not been on the site for a while, I made the pegs welded them to the frame after I removed the front mounts. They are drilled and tapped out 1/2" I have 8 1/2" bolts holding the XJS IFS directly to the frame and cross member using the flat surface where the engine pads would sit for the frame mounting and I welded the pegs in position to aline with original holes in the cross member. It is hard mounted and the roll bar is not mounted yet I may try to add that to the cab at a later date after some more handling trials so far it rides and handles really well not thrown it into corners yet at high speed still working upto that. If you guys need any pictures let me know plus I have contacts for Jaguar parts new and used

I don't see there being a manual rack for the XJS or XJ6 IFS you would need to modify your own I used the steering column from the XJS I just tilted the rack to make it fit and extended the shaft.
The steering type would depend on the engine size cast iron V8's are not light weight and it would be needed with the V12 for sure.
