Questions are constantly popping up on every restoration
forum I've been to, pertaining to the steps involved with
preparing and finishing the paint portion of a restoration.
PPG offers a guide in pdf format which answers a lot of the
questions and is an extremely good start to finishing your
project. It's part of my reference archive and unless you're
an expert body and paint guy, I'd recommend adding it to
yours if you have questions.
How to recognize whether a primer coat on a new part is
actually e-coat or just a solvent based primer and how
to treat it is a common questions that we hear often.
It's just one of typical situations covered in the guide.

Thanks Denny for finding and posting this perfect timing. I've just started to do body work after welding patches and welding up the stress cracks around the steering mast mounting area.
