I have a co-worker who has a 54 Chevy that has a 6 volt system. He has installed 12v tail lights and parking/blinker lights. Other than diminished brightness is there any other problems that he may run into in the long term by doing this?

Thanks in advance,
Jesse

Jesse,

Why use 12v lights in a 6v system?

6v replacement bulbs are readily available.

I'd stay all 6v or switch everything to 12v.

Someone will hopefully post more useful/helpful suggestions for your information.

X2 on what Tim said. If he doesn't know what 6v bulbs to buy we can provide that info. If he has the bulb numbers of the 12v bulbs he can go to donsbulbs.com and find the 6v equivalent bulbs.
