on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 127 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 127 | probably been asked many times, but does anyone have a good diagram of a 1946 truck with an alternator? cant believe these companies will sell you a new harness with just a slip of paper with numbers on it. any help would be greatly appreciated. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 | There is no simple answer:
- do you have a 1, 2, 3, or 4 wire alternator? - do you have an internal or external voltage regulator? - do you have an ammeter or a voltmeter (and, do you want to use it)?
Your question is asked about once a month, but the answers sometimes become quite long and confusing. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 127 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 127 | sorry, single wire, internally regulated, using stock ammeter in truck. | | |
