I have a Rochester carburetor that's rebuilt. I think that it's a 'B'. What is the difference in the B, BC, & BV. The carburetor chart on internet is not much help without a number (which I don't have).

I'm in the same boat. I have what I think is a Rochester B in need of a rebuild. Here's a link to my pictures. Check them out and let me know if yours looks like mine. If they do, we can both (hopefully) get our answer here.

There might be multiple versions of each of those "models"

different types of choke mechanisms

B - manual choke
BC - automatic choke
BV - vacuum break/brake (?) - "vacuum operated diaphragm plunger"

My carburetor must be a BC it has a auto choke with a heat tube run down to the exhaust manifold for heat to operate the choke.Thanks again guys for the replies. This won't be the last time I will be needing help.

That is what was/is on my 1954 3100 with Hydra-Matic
