I am going to try this question over here now, they are too busy to help me over in the parlor.

What are the different ways and products to clean up the stainless steel trim?

I've used several things. Turtle wax makes a chrome cleaner that works pretty well. depending on how nasty it is. I've also used degreaser to remove the crud then used wax or mother's mag wheel cleaner buffed out with my dremel or buffing wheel

I cleaned up a bunch of trim on my truck using a cloth wheel on an electric motor and some red rouge or polishing compound.

I know the Eastwood Company sells lots of products for cleaning stainless.

best thing I found was metal restorer made by Meguires. Get a cloth wheel for your bench grinder,..put a dab or three on your fingers...rub it around the wheel..rub it into the wheel...turn on the grinder and polish away. The restorer works by hand too but I found the wheel faster and brighter.

Mark,

Look back at the posting in the lounge for sources of Wenol products. You might also find them available at major auto events and swap meets.

Have had good results on some badly corroded stainless (guy was cleaning parts with acid and drift got to the newly installed stainless on his '57 Chevy). Good luck finding the product.
