If you will post this question in the Paint and Body forum you will get info from the body experts. BTW it can be a tricky job.

Yes, it is a tricky job. You will most likely be murmuring/shouting a few choice words/phrases.

The first thing that you need to understand is that you align the fenders to the hood AFTER you have aligned the hood with the cowl.
I strongly urge you to get your hands on the Chevrolet Factory Repair Manual. Then write down all of the instructions down on a piece of paper in your own language.
You will be way ahead of the curve if you loosen ALL of the nuts and bolts in the entire front clip before trying to adjust the fenders to fit the correctly adjusted hood.

And don't be discouraged if you wind up taking it apart more than once before you get it where you want it. ..

Ratchet straps... use ratchet straps around the front fenders and hood while all the bolts are loose. Once everything is where you want it, tighten the bolts.

Make sure you prop the hood open about 2 inches at the latch with the springs disconnected.

Once all the bolts are tightened, reattach the springs to the hood.

This is what worked for me. Your mileage may vary.
