What is the original engine color for a 46 truck??
Was the engine compartment painted the body color
including the inner fender wells?
Thanks for the help, John

Hi Rusty46!
Here is a shot of my 46. The engine compartment is the original paint. I had asked the painter to try to match the original when he did the cab. I think he did pretty well! The engine is aluminium in color but was probably done when it was worked on. I seem to remember the original that way but that is only a memory. The inner fender wells were black. Regards, George

The link in the previous post (thank you tc)lists the 46 engine color as blue gray. Is that blue or gray or one color blue-gray? Help please.
Jarge, I sure would like to see some more pictures of your truck. Thanks for your help.

Rusty46,

It is a single color: blue-gray. I do not know a code for it but I have seen it and it looks real nice (big help, I know). My engines are gray ('54 235) and green ('60 261).

Maybe someone will post a code. If you find a code, please post it.

Hi Rusty46!
I sent you an e-mail on Dec.2 with this link and the paint name and codes. Guess it didn't get through. Try this link to my webpage which has a number of pictures of 'before and after' painting.
Try another e-mail to me to confirm your address and I'll re-send. Regards, George

Hi John!
I'm not sure that the e-mail is getting through to your 'hotmail' and I didn't want you to think I wasn't responding. This is the paint that was used on my truck.

U-TECH 3.8 HSP CM456-G2

I believe the original was called 'Brewster Green'.

Sure hope you can find this on your side of the border! Looking forward to seeing pictures of your truck when you are ready.
George

Thanks jarge and tc. The firewall is the same color as cab, fender wells are black, and engine
color is blue-gray.
Does anyone have more info on the blue-gray??

Bill Hirsch sells good paint, calls it grey, not blue-grey, but is supposed to be accurate. His web site is in the stovebolt links.
