The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop paint for hood emblem

I was wondering what you guys recommend regarding painting things like the stainless steel emblem on my 54'Chevy PU. Do I need a special paint to stick to it? Do you just mask it and spray?

I expect to hear groans as people read this: I used very nice decals instead of painting on my '54s. They are available from most venders (Chevy Duty and Jim Carter, for example). Note: except for chrome grills, the colors on the '54 front emblem (and color of "CHEVROLET" on the upper grill bar) were different from colors on the 1955 1st series. The '55 1st grill was painted all white; while, the '54 grill was body color, with inner bars painted Thistle Gray.

Sorry that I do not have advice on painting the stainless steel front emblem.
