I have a tailgate that's approximately 45 7/8 inched wide without any logo. Can someone identify what year truck this is for ?

Does it look like this tailgate on my 37? Some here will spot this as a 39 tailgate with Chevrolet script. About the same width as your and 15-1/2 inches tall..... tailgate

Hi Tony
Thanks for the picture. Mine looks different, but it is also 15 1/2 inches tall. Here are some pictures. http://www.msnusers.com/stovebolt/shoebox.msnw?Page=1

GM made a little trailer out of bed parts.'No logo'
is so the could sell it to a non-GM truck guy
These were pretty neat but I don't think they sold many.
Maybe Oily can measure an Army truck one

Rusty's gate is the right width for a '37-'39 ('39 had the embossed script like Tony's), but looks like it was made like a '41-'46 gate. I wonder if it maybe could be for a '41 or so coupe express box?

The gate is made as a 41-46. It is very sturdy.

Thanks for the help to ID this tailgate. If one of you three guys can't nail it down, I don't know who can. I appreciate the information given.
