Is anyone else waiting for thier ring & pinion set and installation kit from Patrick's It's been 10 weeks and I still don't have a clue on when I will get it.

2 weeks ago I received everything but the bushing and ball seal. They said it would be another week before they would get those in. They also said that they were the last parts needed to complete the job. I told them that their track record is to good and I will wait for all the parts before I take anything apart. They also promised me a chrome differential cover because of my wait but that that come ethier. Patrick is 78 and he doing business like people did in the sixties. That doesn't cut now a days
thrs50's comment makes a lot of since now. I had a long conversation with Patrick when I ordered a bracket to add an alternator to my truck. In the first 5 seconds I would have swore Joe Walsh had gone into retirement and was running a classic truck parts business. It was a great conversation but with the sound of his voice and manner of speaking I could not get an image of Joe Walsh out of my head. He told me to call back anytime I wanted to talk old trucks. I didn't have to order anything. Just call to talk. He loves them and talking about them. Maybe we need to do business like it was the 60's again (except for the long wait getting your parts). I got my bracket in less than a week.
Maybe the trick to getting your complete and timely order is to call and talk old trucks with Patrick himself. Let him know what your doing and where you found your truck and your plans for it. He might be more sympathetic to your needs. Wonder if he's training anyone to take over the business when he can no longer do it? At 78 he's got to be getting close. Just a thought.

These "old guys" are in the same boat as a lot of us. What's gonna happen to it all?
Like Patrick, Jim Carter loves to talk trucks. I know neither wants their business to just drop dead with them. I would imagine it is hard to find someone who is interested in the TRUCKS, not just the business end of things (a/k/a making money).
I know Mongo is that kind of guy and he's super busy -- he needs to be cloned. Same with Tony Smith - loves the trucks -- but there is so much work and it just keeps getting bigger.

All in all I'll rate my business with Patrick, his sweet wife and knowlegable son (I think he was his son) as good enough to warrant more business from me. My 1st order with them was somewhat large and I received the parts piecemeal but other than one part (new oil pump to fit 2 yr only 235)that took about 5 weeks, most parts didn't hold me up that much. I'd call in to get an update and would end up in a great convo with either of the three I mentioned above. I have ordered more since and got them within a week.
I find that calling in an order and talking about availability and such is probably the best way to order over using the web.
I ordered my ring and pinion and installation kit on 10/1/15 and I still don't have all the parts yet. I will probably call them tomorrow and they will tell me there expecting the parts the owe me any day now. Very frustrating.
I ordered a pair of headers and a heat kit for my 235 from Patrick's last October. The headers arrived in about 1week, but still am waiting for the heat kit. I call monthly and talk to either Patrick or his son, and they both have excuses why the parts aren't in yet. First it was the company that laser cuts the plate that goes under the intake. Now it is because of the brass fittings that were sent to them incorrectly. I had about a one month wait, three years ago for my R&P, but at least they said it would be a couple of weeks. I agree, Patrick and his wife are are so nice, but I will not by from them again. The typical suppliers have been out as well for that long, so I'm sure there is a problem in the production somewhere.
