on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 4 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 4 | I am planning to drop a 350 in my 58 chevy. It is all original right now, 235 with 3 on the tree tranny.I bought v8 motor mounts from speedway motors.
The ones I used: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Chevy-to-1955-1959-Chevy-Pickup-Motor-Mounts,8473.html
My 235 has mounts at the front. It also has the holes in the center of it for center mounts but it is at the front. The original crossmember is also at the front. I plan to use the same transmission for now, and I need to know what all I need to do this swap. Any new crossmembers or anything? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 Crusing in the Passing Lane | | Crusing in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 | Radiator, brakes, trans. And higher gear ratio.

You are talking about a truck, right? If so you'll need one of the castiron bellhousings from a V8 from trucks from about late 55 thru about mid 70's, one of the starters with 3 bolt pattern and motor mounts. The front V8 mounts didn't work for me so I used the side motor mount cross member from Jim Carter. If you don't have exhaust manifolds use Sanderson Headers from Summit racing Part number SNH-CC3-P. They will give you more room at the steering box. When you get the engine in be sure to check the angle of the drive shaft at the rear of the transmission. You may have to raise the front of the engine. Feel free to PM me for more info. Larry
