I have a 37 1/2 ton with a 3 speed. The shifter bounces in 2nd and 3rd gear. Does anyone know what this may mean. Bearings? chipped gear? other?

Thanks

Springs and ball brgs. In the shifter housing may be worn, plus countershaft brgs.

Took the transmission apart today. One of the synco sleeves fell out of the 2nd 3rd speed cluch. May be the reason the shifter bouced in 2nd and 3rd. Where do I get another? Nothing on ebay.

While I was in a local salvage yard today hunting up tranny parts, I came across a 37 3 speed. It seemed to shift good and the main shaft turned with no noticeable slop. The shifter was missing the knob. It's been kept in the dry.
