I saw a very nice 1950 Fleetmaster this weekend with a two tone cream/seafoam green paint job. Was there a similar green available for the AD trucks (just the green, not two tone)? I really liked it and I am considering using it. It was a very light and bright color (almost a pale mint) and would hide dents and dings well without being too plain. I hate white. I wanted to go with yellow but there is a well known business in town that has a truck just like mine that is a very nice yellow and I don't want to look like a copycat or give free advertising. Omaha Orange is just too loud for my taste (that's what I have now and it looks terrible know that it is old), and I love red but I already have one red car. Blue and Black and Maroon are too dark and gray is too gray. (I live in a gray area anyway, rainy Oregon)

I was at a swap meet and found some color chips labeled "Chevrolet Commericial Colors 1947-1950". The greens listed and shown on this are: seacrest green, channel green, fathom green, and (of course) forester green. I can scan and email them to you if you wish.

4onthefloor, is your name really Josiah Bartlett or are you just stealing the quote from the West Wing TV show? I've seen lots of people refer/respond to you as Josiah. Just thought I'd point it out/ask...

Brian,
A scan would be fantistic. Thanks!

Apache,
Yes, my name really is Josiah Bartlett. I am a decendant of the Josiah Bartlett from New Hampshire that signed the Declaration of Independance. I found it interesting that they used my name as the name of the President on that show, although they seem to call him 'Jed' a lot and I have never heard my name be shortend to Jed and wouldn't respond if I heard it.
What's funny is that growing up in the woods of Washington my neighbor was a direct decendant of John Standish of Mayflower fame and they had the Alden family Bible that listed the entire family tree in front. The records are a little less formal in my family, but my father has a pre-1776 New Hampshire property deed that Josiah Bartlett signed while he was Justice of the Peace under the rule of the British Crown. It is pretty neat- it lists the location of the property as 'from the oak stump to the creek to the stone fence...' and it's hand written. We don't own the property though.

Hi Josiah,

That's great! Wasn't it Miles Standish and John Alden? My wife took a college course in Oakland, CA, where there was a Miles Standish XI (the eleventh) in the class.

Yes, that's what I meant. My neighbor's name was John and his son's name was Miles.

I recently obtained chips from DuPont for 53, 55(both series) 57, 58, 59. Could not find your Sea Foam Green. I might have missed because all are listed in about 24+ different files. For 53 Chevy they listed Seacrest Green and Ocean Green. These look like what you described.

Can e-mail if you still need.
