When it's rolled all the way up it slides down about 1/3 of the way on it's own once I let go of the crank. I took the door panel off and it looks like the spring on the regulator decreases as the window is raised, ending up with not enough tension to hold the window up. Anybody know what's going or not going on. Thanks, Jacques

Did you ever resolve this? I just noticed the window on my 54 (passenger side) is starting to do the same thing.
I just ordered 2 new window regulator springs from Chevy Duty - $3.95 each - this ought to fix it.

If I remember right, you have to remove the window -- pretty simple -- the window slides out from the regulator: See Pics Here Once the window is out, I guess you can unbolt the regulator ... I'll be doing this in a week or so and will have pics posted on my site.

Reprints are available from many vendors for a reasonable price. The job is hard and confusing without stepwise instructions.
