I have a 1939 chev 1.5 truck , been running into wiring problems, taking out old broken wires. after some poor atemps at replacing the wires, I have decided to go with a wiring harness . I want to stay with the 6 volt system, any one have a specific recommendation on where I may purchase one ? I have just head and tail lights 4 way flashers heater fan gas tank cabin light dash lights , electric wipers gages . no radio. thank you for your reply 1pete1

Hey 1pete1

We're headed in a similar direction with our 49' 3600. The old wiring is tired and hard to repair.

I ran into this Amercian company out of RI that may have some interesting options for you. www.riwire.com , you might give them a call and see what they say.

I have looked at most of the companies doing original wiring harnesses and have decided to go with Vintage Wiring of Maine,
Vintage Wiring of Maine
It was a toss up between them and Rhode Island but, I found Maine more responsive and they did return my call.
From what I see they appear to be very much equal regarding quality of product though.
Make your own judgement.

You may also take a look at YnZ's. I bought a cloth wiring harness from them, for my 1953 3100. www.ynzyesterdaysparts.com. They are in Redlands Califonia. A little closer to home for you. Good luck with your project. Hope this helps.

My mistake. It is YnZ that I finally decided upon. Very helpful in sorting out what I needed and didn't need.
