I'm planning on painting my truck later this year, and I have been mulling over color choices. I have seen a couple of black trucks and I really like them. The ones I have seen have all had chrome grilles, but the one on the truck is painted and in really good condition. My truck is a 3 window and I kind of like the non-deluxe look, not many do it. If you had a black truck, what color would you paint the grille?
The truck is not going to be a hot rod but I would like to drop it 2" on straight axles and use chrome smoothie wheels and stainless bumpers and natural finish bedwood.

How about something like the silver paint they used for the Korea truck grills? You could also use it on the mirrors and maybe the bumper.

Hey 4onthefloor, My vote would be for the back slash bars being ivory, & the outer bars body color. There is a Pretty Black '51 model Chevy in my area that is Black, with black grille(outer bars), ivory (back splash bars) with ivory painted wheels, & chrome "Moon" hubcaps, & trim rings. Looks "Great".

Nice bike whiz you got real class, and yes 4on floor I'm thinking you only have a few choices for a black truck (1950ish I'm guessing)...
Chrome
White
Ivory
Black

Heres a different idea for you..

I like the idea of a black/white grille.

Sorry, Titan, if I do black it has to be shiny. I'm a bit too young to do an old school hot rod finish. I want to show off the clean body of my truck.

My wife thinks I should do red or sea foam green, so the black may get ixnayed.

4ontheFloor I like black with a lighter color (like white) on the bars underneith like my truck has now. Ivory would work.

j0oftheworld Glad you like my truck, when it's done the hood will be grey as will the bedsides. but the fenders and running boards will still be black. I've been trying to figure out what I'm gonna do on the grill also. Current thought is black on the outer bars (Like they are) and grey on the inner bars but who know's we'll see how it turns out.

Mongo, for sure one of my all time favorites!
The grey touches on the grill and the hood grey would be outstanding.

I need a fat fender frown

4otf there is another option. Tint the black with another collor. Nothing drastic just enought to set it off from the rest of the truck. If it is done right it will help bring out the grill without looking like another color.
