I am posting this for my Dad, a retired farmer. He has an old redi-mix truck that was converted to a grain truck. He acquired it back in the late 70's. He is starting to filter out machinery and equipment these last few years. It is a 348 4brl. The frame has been stretched and the fenders are lil rusty. All this said, been the go to rig since I was young. He is hoping that someone has a home for the "old girl" since it has been a great piece to the operation through the years. I have pictures available if someone has some interest or knows of someone that will. Please do not hesitate to contact or post here. Interested parties will get a phone # to speak to the man that knows all .... Thanks...

Welcome to the Stovebolt wave

I'd be interested in seeing pictures of what you have.

Where is the truck located?

FYI, offering a vehicle for sale in the regular forums is forbidden by the powers that be. Post in the "Trucks for Sale" forum please. I'm sure the Mods will move this.

The truck is in northern MN. He don't know if he should part it out or sell complete... Our little bit of research tells us that it was made from 56-59 or somewhere in there and many were scrapped out over the years. It's quite rare I believe. Title in hand and runs drives, power steering and the 348 is a beast. What's it worth?

Hi,Wayne! AWESOME set-up! Can you tell me the make, and model number,on the "Power Divider"? I'm trying to find a way to turn a '48 1-ton,into a 6X6,with '48 2-ton frame,'72 running gear! The set-up on your truck looks like a "No Nonsense" approach! Thanks for Sharing!

Willy,

The Power Dividers are Truckstell Model 500 units. The gear ratios are 1:1 (direct), 1.22:1 and 2.22:1. They have one input shaft and two outputs (one to each rear). The rear rear is only engaged for off road use.

The truck is 300 miles from me but my dad is gonna get the info you request for me. I will post when I receive. I'm guessing Mike has proper info as he seems familiar with the driveline...

THANKS,MIKE!! Do anyone know the model #,of the CCKW transfer case? Wayne, what I'm most interested in,(besides the transfer-case),is the position of the rear differential housings. They do not appear to be off-set,as most tandem rears are. Could you possibly get your Dad yo post some pic's of the tandem set-up?? THANKS!!

Hy wetwilly5757, that truck uses two identical corporation differentials 16000 lb. if I remember correctly, there is a pillow block mounting on the top of the front diff. which allows the driveshaft to pass over to the rear differential, hope that helps.

Wow!! I had a 59 10400 that was almost a twin (to look at) to this one. It was a single drive with a tag axle though.
