Eastwoods welder runs off a stick welder, which I already have. Looking for someone that has one of these units, and would like to have their opinion of its performance? At work we have a Lincoln 125 Mig set up with gas, this machine was about $800.00 and am I wrong to be looking for a less expensive way out of this, or will I be let down with the results and need to just spend the cash on a Mig?

I would also like to hear opinions on the Eastwood's stitch welder (sold under other names - check a J.C. Whitney catalog). It supposedly welds 18-22 gauge steel. Has anyone used this welder on sheet metal on an Advance Design truck - 16 gauge metal (or, is this type of welder designed to simplify welding thinner metal)??
Along the same line, has anyone used the companion spot weld gun (18-26 gauge) on 16 gauge metal?
Thanks, Tim | | |
