Hello all you know I like a challenge well check this out I just purchased it from a couple of guys over here. Its a 1959 Chevy Suburban special order school bus that Delta high school purchased new in 1959 who had it until 1979 then a guy bought it & had it on the road until 1986. It was then found in 2013 by a couple of guys in the guys back yard nee deep in sand. They did the basics to get it on the road. It was then bought by a couple of guys from over here with a group of motors where I purchased it. I plan to restore it to a bus but convert it for my daughter & her wheel chair atb Andy.
PS A big thank you for DAN & TICH from Dodge City trucks for picking it up for me.:tup

Just a suggestion. If you are on a technical forum asking advice, you might get better response if you used proper punctuation and broke your post into sentences.

Have you got nothing better to do than make fun of my post maybe we are not all as gifted as you I am only asking a simple question I don't think I will bother asking in future unless there are some more polite people on here thanks Andy.

Easy there Andrew. Cletis was just pointing out a minor flaw with your posting etiquette. It is hard to read a post that is not broken up into sentences, such as your post in response to Cletis. We try very hard to be tolerant of everyone's style of posting, however, run on sentences with no punctuation can cause some misunderstanding of the question being asked. Just take a deep breath and do your best to use proper Kings English and accepted writing practices when posting. Believe me, we are here to help you. chug

I see this too often. Instead of making a comment about someone's post within the post send the guy a direct message or e-mail regarding your concerns about his way of posting or typing.

Andrew, nice looking suburban project and keep those photo links coming. Really like seeing the photos.

Cheers, and welcome to the Stovebolt Page.

Let's all chill and get back on topic.

Andrew, no need to reply on these translations of acronyms in your post, unless I am wrong:

atb = All The Best (Alberta Treasury Branches, or Air Transport Board?)
tup = Thank You Partner (Toilet Upgrading Programme?)
Many posters here do not know social media acronyms.

Now, back to panels, suburbans, and CEs (the rarest of all stove bolts).

Hello all thank you for all your comments I did not mean any offence in my post. I only wanted to update my post & ask a simple question. I will update the pictures soon but you do it different on here as on a lot of the other sites you can actually display the actual pictures on your post. Have a good day Andy.

Glad to see you decided to stick with us Andy. Please understand a lot of us (myself included) are old geezers and do not necessarily keep up with all the social media slang. Being "Old School" with your posts helps us older folks help you better. That's what we are here to do and we do enjoy passing our knowledge along to the younger generation. chug

Now back to the Bus. You and your daughter are going to have a blast with that. Keep us posted. chug

Hello all just a question my fuel gauge on the bus has now decided to read full all of the time when the ignition is on so it looks like the sender unit is faulty. So my question is what fuel tank sender will fit ? it has the original tank under the chassis. Thanks Andy thumbs_up

before you blame the sender, make sure the connection from gauge to sender is not broken .... the only thing that will fit is an original 55.2-59 panel or burb sender, which are not reproduced .... here's a sneak peak at a tech tip not quite 'live' yet on how to rebuild the sender using pieces from a 5-9 pickup sender

Well all just trying to fix all the annoying bits with the bus. The bus Carburetor was playing up so managed to find an exchange one over here cured the bad running but when you stop like when fueling up its difficult to re start. If you leave it for a while it starts no problem. When it starts again it runs a great. I have done all the usual things points ,condenser, check & adjusted timing ,check & adjusted float level , checked & adjusted mixture. It always started fine with the old worn carb so is pointing to the recon carb any idea anyone. Thanks Andy.
