I've purchased the typical chrome aftermarket turn signal switch for my '59 and am going around in circles trying to figure out how to wire it in.
The six wires coming out of the stock switch are white, purple, pink, drk blue, yellow, and light blue.
The seven wires coming out of the replacement switch are black, light blue, dark blue, green, orange, red, and yellow.

Has anyone done this swap and have a record of which wires in the stock switch should be replaced by which wires in the aftermarket?

I have no idea why anyone would want to replace a stock switch with an aftermarket one, but. The tech tip I wrote tells what wires go where on a stock switch and tells how to figure what is what on an unknown switch.

Thanks for the writeup, Cletis. This will make my life easier in a couple weeks. One reason folks might replace a stock switch is if they don't have all the pieces for it. New ones are pricey frown

Yes, the repops of the original are well over $100 and this aftermarket switch is $30. That, and I need to get this thing road worthy in the next 10 days.

thanks for the help.
