That is quite Thomas Stearns Elliott-esqe, there bartamos.

I'll format some observations later that may help the next fuelish problem another bolter may have.

My plan this weekend is to:

1) Leave the carburetor alone,
2) Put the Oil-bath air cleaner on,
3) Connect the headlights & single taillight wiring (that is already in place),
4) Clamp the exhaust & muffler down more securely,
5) rig up something to hold the tag,
6) Hang the door back on the hinges,
7) Put the seat in, and
8) take the owner for a ride...

Brad

On-topic Edit- when I get to the point of adding an in-line fuel filter, where is recommended? I like between tank & fuel pump...

1.Between Tank and fuel pump, best.
2.Between pump and carb only...Nope
3.Both, OK.
If filter built into carb, just no. 1.

You forgot number 9. Get insurance.

I got liability insurance before I got the truck out of my uncle's barn in 2011 ( I actually called & got it in the field when the brakes went out); value - rated insurance applied for.

"I didn't surrender. But they took my horse and made him surrender" (also Chief Dan George)

Alright- looks like it'll have to be tomorrow for the ride; maybe. I have my left headlight & left parklamp working, though.
Right headlight bulb is shot or I have a poor ground.

There is still fuel in the tank; I checked it when I was looking at how to run the fuel sending wiring, which isn't a priority.

OK; roger that on the quotes- this thread's issue is solved.
My 55.2 235 engine loves the rate of fuel delivery so far.

I will be transitioning to the Electrical shop to figure out why my truck's headlights are cock-eyed; That is if (pause for emphasis on Stovebolt lesson learned implementation)...

...a new headlight bulb doesn't fix it.

Thanks again, Gents-

cock-eyed: crooked or askew; not level

Not what you mean, but it is a common problem with head-lights/lamps - they would need adjusting, as described in a Shop Manual.

Here are pictures of a Airtex 4149 fuel pump disassembled. This is not the 'new' one that didn't work, and I returned, nor the new one that is installed on the engine and working fine.

I just had another 4149 (on the shelf) from my "shotgun" approach to problem-solving days.

Chief Bart Amos, more likely.
