I took the stock 216 out of my 1951 3600 and replaced it with a rebuilt 1958 261. It has Fenton dual exhaust but I retained the single intake and single Rochester carb. I'm not having any luck getting the throttle linkage from the 216 to match up given these changes and wondered if anyone has figured out or knows who makes a solution for this? Patrick's say they have a solution but it could be quite a while before they are available.

You might be able to bend this rod to work.
I have used it with a variety of carbs (single and dual) on high pressure 235/261 blocks/carbs.

what part doesn't match up top to the carb or pivot or the pedal rod

We have done a few late model 6 conversions and used the motor year pivot to carb rod and the body year pivot to pedal or just made a new pivot plate and relocated it. You will have to bend and shape the rod a bit.

If I remember correctly, there two holes in the later blocks for the small bell crank assembly to mount. Look for that second hole as it might match up better for you. I have a 56 261 in my 37 truck which originally had a 216 1st style and the 261 holds and works my bell crank with my original gas pedal and linkage for two carbs. I had to alter the rod slightly, but it works good. You should be able to make an accelerator rod fairly easily, if need be.

I believe I just used the original linkage when I had the original intake with the fentons. However mine was on a 216. A length of 1/4" round stock was what I used to make the linkage when I finally put the dual set up on. The whole process of modifying anything on these trucks seems to involve a lot of hand fabrication. It was kind of fun, took a while, but in the end it looks really nice. There are several examples of how people solved many of the common issues (the throttle linkage, mounting oil filters, etc.) in these posts as well as in the tech tips. If I knew how to post pictures and what nots I would do a couple of different tech tips, but I don't....
