My Grandfather bought it new and Dad drove it through highschool. The 3rd & 4th generations put it back on the road on 8/8/2015!

1948 would be the same as 1947 Advance-Design.

6" rim width was standard equipment.

Tim, I think you looked at the wrong page. Those are the tire specs. The wheel specs are on the next page. It shows the standard 16" wheel is 4", with a 4.5" option.

Are folks running 215s on 4 or 4.5" rims or are these being mounted on non-stock rims?

I ended up getting these at "Just Tires"
'Kellys' Safari's 235/85/16.Ride is Awesome,Profile is Perfect and I got New 8-Lug 1 pc Rims from "Redneck Trailer Supply",Paint em to Match and You are 'Good to Go'
This is what's on MY 50' 3600 Long Bed......Hope that helps.
