| | | | Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 217 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 217 | Thinking about adding carpet to the cab of my '55 2nd Chev and the supplier wants to know if I have a high or low hump trans cover. My truck had several modifications done to the cover over the years, POs hacked a large hole for the non stock Muncie 4 speed. The cover has a hole up near the top for what I believe was the stock 4 speed shifter and one for a handbrake. The truck has the standard brake lever under the left side of the dash, which is working fine and appears original. Was the low hump cover basicly flat, and the high hump about 3ins high? Need to figure this out before ordering carpet. Any help greatly appreciated! | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | if yours is not flat level with the rest of the floor, it's a high hump .... the original floor shift 4 speed uses the "high hump" floor pan, the 3 speed column shift used the flat "low hump"
