I don't have an original jack set (too expensive). What are you guys with 60-66 factory stance trucks using for a jack just in case you have a flat? I want something I can find new or at the salvage yard, either is fine. Just need ideas. Thanks. | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 313 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 313 | I have an original jack under the seat of my '66 C10.
I bought the jack for $5 at the Pickens Flea Market, in Pickens SC
Check some junkyards in your area. You might find one.
I used an ordinary bottle jack in my first '66 Chevrolet truck, and it worked fine. | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 2,877 Socket Breaker | Socket Breaker Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 2,877 | I just have a hydraulic bottle jack that fits under the seat as my jack was missing too.
Some of the parts vendors that still sell NOS/used parts and they sometimes have the jacks for sale for non-outrageous prices if you keep any eye out... or call them on the phone. They are not always listed on the site when they have them.
I tried finding an original style jack several years ago but at the time it was just a hassle... but they are still out there if you want one.

-W If I find an original setup, I might get it. I have all the brackets and springs for under the seat. Until then, I guess I'll get a basic bottle jack. I guess I'll just look around and see what's out there. I want the kind you have to pump. | | | | Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 1,262 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 1,262 | | | | | Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 2,917 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 2,917 | Size will affect my decision. Must fit under the seat. Fuel tank is staying in the cab for now. Scissors jack might be an option if it will safely lift the front tire off the ground.

What additional parts do I need to make it work? | | | | Joined: Jan 2014 Posts: 86 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2014 Posts: 86 | There is a folding metal rod crank that has one end that fits into the jack. The device folds in half for storage. You can find them at swap meets. If no one else provides specific details, I can send a photo if you PM an email address.
