I recently put new floorboards in my truck. I cut the old seat riser out during the replacement with the intent of going to a salvage yard to acquire a more modern bench seat. What bench seats work the best in these truck. I am hoping to find a seat that is not over 13 years old and in good condition.

Well, it's more than 13 years old, but I'm using the bench seat out of a mid to late 90's Chevy W/T. The plane Jane work trucks came with plane bench seats. Some had a center fold down arm rest, or odd cushen designs that look bad in these trucks, but the simplest were cloth seats that bolt right in. I put one in my truck and didn't have to modify anything, just drilled four holes and bolted it in. MUCH more comfortable than the old seat. Oh yeah, had to remove the head rests, took two minutes.

I once had the time to measure a rear bench on a Porsche Cayenne (same as a VW Toureg) it measured very close. I'm planning on finding one for my 48 AD hotrod....if I ever finish the stock 47!
