So I am at a stage where I can do pretty much whatever I want to my interior - as I look at my seat base I see a big gap at the back - 6-8" and I NEED some extra leg room at 6'4". Anybody have any luck moving the seat back even 4"? I can get by with a thin seat back if I can stretch my legs out a bit and get my knees out from under the steering wheel and my chin.
Thanks for any ideas and help

I,m 6-1 and the real issue I have is the valance over the wiper motors. I have to duck down to see stoplights. I don,t have much issue with legs but there might be for you. My seats are stock except I added additional springs in the bottom.

Given the stop light viewing problem, I wonder if the stop light viewer accessory they used for Fulton visor installs would help? They mounted on the dash and used a glass prism to reflect the lights. I've seen these occassionally on cars at some shows and off and on eBay.

As for the seats, I would think modifying the pedestal would be needed which would also require moving the gas tank and related. Given that, it would seem the options expand, as do the challenges. Several of my street rod buddies have gone through this effort several times each to get the ergonomics puzzle solved to their liking.

Not sure you will end up with that kind of rear gap. Assuming you are reusing the stock supports and seat, you will find the rear of the seat back touches the cab wall with only a minor backslope.

Good comments gents. I have measured and think I'll be OK legroom wise. At 6'4" I'll be using the prism or just stooping a lot - no visor unfortunately. Thanks all
BTW, I am using a 3rd row seat from an older Suburban while the stock seat is being reupholstered - it has a really thin back so I'm liking that...
